Technique Spotlight - Walnut Ink Resist

I am SO SORRY I haven't posted for three weeks! My goal is going to be to post every week...... I will work hard at it!

This card was made using a technique I refer to as Walnut Ink Resist. The top with the leaves, is what I stamped, along with the sentiment. The bottom is patterned paper. I took out my Crimper, and made a little strip between the upper and lower pieces.

How exactly did I do the Walnut Ink Resist? Here's how:

I stamped the leaves with a Versamark stamp pad, and embossed using Clear Embossing powder. I used Terra Cotta Walnut Ink, with the Dauber on top (instead of the sprayer). I covered the stamped area with the Walnut Ink. Then, I used my iron (don't use it for anything but crafts - but it does come in handy!). I placed a sheet of regular white copy paper on top of the stamped piece, and then ironed. This picked up the Embossing Powder, leaving a unique, and flat (not raised) image on the cardstock!

If you have any questions - please ask!

More Fun with Walnut Inks

I have been playing with my Walnut Inks again. These are two of the cards I have created. They are being offered at a workshop at my home (along w/ 3 other cards) on March 2 and March 5. If you'd like information on my workshops - please contact me! I used inks from both sets of Walnut Inks for the cards - Set 1 and Set 2
