Relaxing Thoughts

I didn't really know what to title this post. This card just makes me think of a vacation, far far away - with nothing to worry about! The colors (although they didn't scan as well as I'd like) are a palette I just love. The papers are Amberley Grace and Willoughby from The Angel Company. The stamp set is Peace be Still - also from TAC. I used very light COPIC just to give it a subtle color. The ribbon I found at the Michael's dollar spot - how fun, huh? It is some type of burlap fiber.

More Birthday Cards!

Here are some more Birthday cards I designed over the past few days! These are the other three that will be offered at my class in January! Quick and simple - but I"m sure they'd bring a smile to the recipient's face! The BEE one and the BIRD one are both designed with stamp sets from The Angel Company. I think the stamp on the other card is Unity - but I can't remember for sure!

Masculine Happy Birthday

This is the second card that will be made at my January class - my Birthday Bonanza stamp a stack. The other one you have seen so far is Lucy's Cheese. Keep checking in the next few days - as I'll be posting ALL of the other cards from the class too!

This one is made with the beautiful Willoughby paper from The Angel Company. The image is from the Stampin Up set Yukon - not sure where I got the Birthday sentiment - I have so many! I highlighted the scenery with Earth Tone chalks.

Got Cheese?????????????

This mouse is just so darn cute! And the saying - well - gotta love that too! I am so glad I bought this set from The Angel Company before they closed! Background paper is from October Afternoon. I colored w/ my COPICS of course. The cheese was paper pieced for more dimension. You can't see it so much in the picture - but it pops a bit in real life.

Posts two days in a row - aren't you impressed!?!?!?!?

Happy Birthday!!!!!

So - I have made so many Christmas and Chanukah cards over the past two weeks - I decided to play in my craft room - and work on OTHER stuff! I love pink and green together - so when I found this yarn I just had to figure out something to do with it. I had fun making this card!

Projects for Fundraiser

So - I have been BAD BAD BAD........ I have been meaning to update my blog more frequently - but - just haven't done so. I'm not going to make excuses - rather just share! A department where I work is having a fundraiser craft sale - so I decided to put together some quick projects to sell. I had fun doing these magnetic calendar and post-it holders, corner bookmarks, and notepads. I am sharing a few of the projects here!

Bar Mitzvah Card

This card definitely took me out of my 'box'. My nephew is getting Bar Mitzvah'd tomorrow, and of course I had to make a card! Couldn't bring myself to buy one. I am pleased with how it turned out!

I used my nesties labels 23 die (gotta love those dies!) Colored with my COPICs and cut, popped up the Torah.

Trick or Treat!

This card features stamps and papers from The Angel Company. I just love to stamp with frogs - so the fact that this was in a Halloween set just added to the fun for me! It is so sad that we can't get these products any more - but I am using them ALL the time for my cards - and my classes! I tend to do lots of layers, as you can see - and I will ALWAYS love my Scrappers Floss!

Technique Spotlight - Walnut Ink Resist

I am SO SORRY I haven't posted for three weeks! My goal is going to be to post every week...... I will work hard at it!

This card was made using a technique I refer to as Walnut Ink Resist. The top with the leaves, is what I stamped, along with the sentiment. The bottom is patterned paper. I took out my Crimper, and made a little strip between the upper and lower pieces.

How exactly did I do the Walnut Ink Resist? Here's how:

I stamped the leaves with a Versamark stamp pad, and embossed using Clear Embossing powder. I used Terra Cotta Walnut Ink, with the Dauber on top (instead of the sprayer). I covered the stamped area with the Walnut Ink. Then, I used my iron (don't use it for anything but crafts - but it does come in handy!). I placed a sheet of regular white copy paper on top of the stamped piece, and then ironed. This picked up the Embossing Powder, leaving a unique, and flat (not raised) image on the cardstock!

If you have any questions - please ask!

Fall Sunflower

Here is another card I am doing in my October card class. This one is a Gatefold style - and uses an image from The Angel Company (sadly, no longer open) - a favorite paper pack they carried - Penelope. Love the rich, fall colors! Colored with my COPICS (of course!)

Every Leaf.......................

Fall is HERE!!!!!!!! I love FALL........... the air is cool and crisp, the humidity is gone, and I can open up the windows and enjoy the weather! There is just something great about putting on a pair of shorts with a cozy sweatshirt!!!

I was playing in my craft room, coming up with projects for my October card class. I challenged myself to do a card that didn't require coloring! I really like how this turned out! I used post it notes, sponges, and various ink pads to make the background! The main image is stamped with a Kaleidacolor stamp pad.

Final Farewell Blog Hop

This is our last official Blog Hop as part of the Angel Company. I have been blessed to be a part of this company for the past six years, and it is hard to say goodbye. The Angel Company truly changed my life. It has brought me so many new friends, and a lot of self confidence. Doing my classes has been my Therapy! It has gotten me through some very tough times in my life. Of course the support of my network of TAC Angels has also been amazing. It is incredible the number of new friends I have made since I joined The Angel Company. All around the country. It was so amazing to go to Seminar each summer and reconnect with everyone live and in person! I will miss this annual trip terribly!

Okay - so about my card..... I submitted this card to TAC in July for a contest entry called Cards for Kids. I enjoyed making it - it brought a BIG smile to my face. I hope you like it too!

I will continue to update my blog - and I will still be offering classes!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Bloggers that are participating!

Fall Fun!!!!!

I hate to say this...... but fall is just around the corner. I took out a couple of Fall stamp sets to make this pop-up card. I am posting a picture of the outside and the inside. It may be a little hard to tell that the inside pops up..... but it does! And the leaves are dangling inside! To cut the 'frame' inside I used my Nestabilities 1 set. The patterned paper is from our Penelope collection.

I used the stamp set Fall Fibi and Lilly for the outside, and of course, colored with my COPICs. For the leaves and the inside, I used a stamp set called Happy Leaf. This set is actually a hostess set - but can be purchased by anyone that places an additional $30 order for just $4.50 in August only.

Christmas in July Blog Hop

For the first card, I used the stamp set Havin' a Ball. I colored with COPICs and added some fun with ribbon and a spiral clip! I used the Big Scalloped Squares Nestabilities for the diecut.

For the next card I used two stamp sets. Ready Set Snow and Santa Claus is Coming. For the background, I used White Glossy cardstock, and stamped using the Stazon Cloud White stamp pad. I then brayered over it with the Blue Breeze Kaleidacolor stamp pad. The diecut is one of the new Nestabilities that we carry - called Labels 10.

Christmas in July is just FUN to say, isn't it? It is a great time to start getting ideas for those holiday cards you are going to make this year........ isn't it?

I am a member of PaperWings - an All Angel Company group where anyone can go to get inspiration using TAC stamps and supplies! We are holding a Christmas in July Blog Hop and I am so excited to participate!

The cards posted above are two that I will be offering as part of my September "Jump Start Your Holiday Cards" Stamp a Stack.

If you'd like any more information on my upcoming September class - please ask!

Now that you looked at my cards........ check out the other participants!

How Big is YOUR World?

This is another of the cards that we will be making at my For the Guys card class in August.

I had fun making this card cuz - uh well - I like FROGS - so the frog and the turtle - they were just TOO cute together.

The image is from the Everyday Cuties stamp set. The sentiment is one I use on many of my projects, and is from the stamp set Bug of Fun.

July Blog Hop - Spotlighting

On the TAC Savvy Projects Blog - they are featuring the technique of Spotlighting. I haven't done it a lot - but do love how it looks. I took one of our new stamp sets - Majestic Mountain . I stamped with the Rich Cocoa Memento Stamp Pad, and colored with COPICs. I stamped the wolf with the Black Memento - and again - colored with COPICs (and popped this little guy up for some additional dimension!)

This is one of the cards that will be part of my Guy Cards class coming up in August.

Inspirational Card

This card was one of my Trades from Seminar. I hadn't used this set previously - so challenged myself to cut the rubber FINALLY! The stamp set I used is called Be Lifted. I love the color combo on this one - too.

I hope to get some cards made this week with some of the newly released stamp sets! If so - I will definitely post some to my Blog!

Sharing Cards from a Friend

A friend and customer shared some cards with me using TAC stamps she has ordered from me. I think she does fantastic work - and wanted to share it on my blog!

The cat one is a multi fold card - but one side didn't scan well (bummer!). It had the saying: Don't Have Middle Fingers to go along with the front sentiment It's a Good Thing....

She colored out each of the cat images and cut them out - wow - huh?

Thanks, Maria Wagner, for sharing your cards!

Contest Winner!!!!

These cards are the three that I won my FIRST contest with from The Angel Company. It was a March contest - better late than never....... I used the two stamp sets of Aged Ornaments and Marvelous Mottos. It was fun to use these two stamp sets that one typically wouldn't think to use together! That was actually my challenge to myself when creating these cards!

Fun with Tags!!!!

My May card class will feature the tags from our SWIC paper packs. People often ask me what they can do with that sheet of tags! So - I stepped up to the challenge, and created these cards for the class.

Many different stamp sets and paper collections were used on these. If you have any specific questions, or would like specific information about my May class - don't hesitate to ask!

Sunday, March 13, 2011

I was inspired to make this card when I saw what Chris Franco did as a Guest Designer for the TAC Savvy Projects Blog. Check it out here - You will need to click on the category of Delicate Florals to see her design.

This is both a card and a gift! Attached is a bookmark that can easily be removed by the recipient! I used the Scor Bug to make additional perforations so it would be easy to tear apart. The stamp set I used is called Springtime Garden - which just happens to be on sale this month for $14.96. The regular price is $19.95. I colored with my Prismacolor Pencils and used OMS (Odorless Mineral Spirits) to blend. The paper used was Maggie - both the cardstock and the patterned paper.

Can you tell I am anxious for spring to come? I want all of this snow to MELT away, and my flowers to start coming up!
