Fun with Walnut Inks

For my monthly hostess club, it was requested I do some cards using our Walnut Inks. So - I had fun playing yesterday! Hope you like 'em!

The first card was made using the Walnut Ink Resist technique. Simply stamp with Versamark, emboss with clear embossing powder, use Applicator Caps on the Walnut Inks to create the background, then put the cardstock between paper and iron for a short while. The ironing takes off what you embossed, and you have your image left. Then I stamped the sentiment with our Noir Palette Stamp Pad. The stamp set I used is Take Pride.

The second card was made by spritzing a few colors of the Walnut Ink on white cardstock, stamping with stamps from True Beauty and Curls and Swirls, cutting with Fancy scissors, and putting it together. A simple way to get a beautiful and unique background!

It's Snowing!!!!!!

In honor of today's snow, and the fact that (oops) I haven't posted in a month - here is a card I made for my November hostess club! The stamp set is called Squirrely Girl. How did I make the background? It was easy with my Scor-Pal and Scor-Bug! I just LOVE this tool!

Faux Alligator Background

This is a card we made in our October Hostess Club! The background was made using a technique I saw on a fellow angels blog - Kelly Rae

It wasn't that difficult, and really creates a fun background!

I took my Versamark stamp pad and used the Brayer to ink up my base cardstock (in this case, Olive). Then, I poured clear embossing powder over the top. Next step - I took a stylus, and drew lines through the embossing powder as I wanted the background to look. From there, heat with the Embossing Gun, and there you have it! A unique background! The stamps used on this card are from Happy Trails and Wild West. Of course, I had to add some Tan Scrappers Floss to this project, too!

Build a Snowman

Gotta LOVE this stamp set! It is available through the end of December for just $15.95 with an additional $30 purchase!

October Angel Blog Hop

I am participating in another Blog Hop - this time featuring projects for Fall. This cute, little treat pail was made with the Hemingway SWIC paper collection. This was one of the projects for my Monthly Hostess Club. The stamps used were from Pick of the Patch and Give Thanks. I colored them with my Tombow markers. and added some sparkle with the Clear Glitter Gel pen. Of course- I had to use my favorite embellishment, Scrappers Floss, too! That's what I used to tie the punched circle around the pail. I filled it up with a yummy mixture of candy corn and roasted peanuts!
Be sure to visit the following blogs that are also featuring Fall projects using stamps and papers from The Angel Company! I'm sure you'll get some great ideas for your own projects!

Wouldn't this little game tin be fun for a kids birthday party? What a great party favor - so many different stamps and themes could be used to adapt this for various occasions.

It was really easy to make. I started with the Round Metal tins featured in our catalog. I stamped on yellow cardstock with the candle from our Little Cupcake stamp set. The swirls were made with one of the stamps from our Curls and Swirls stamp set. The bright inks used were Claret and Beaux Arts Blue. I colored using the Stardust Glittering Gel Pens, and highlighted with the Stardust Clear Gelly Pen. I punched holes with my 1/8" punch, and then layered everything up inside. I used a lot of foam tape!!!!! I added some BBs, and then covered the outer part of the tin with strips of paper from our Tutti Frutti pack. Give it a try!

I also outlined the pig using our Clear Sparkle Gel Pens. Do you like these stamps? Contact me directly and I will give you a great deal - both stamp sets for $24.95 (retail value is $30.90)!!!

View Master Card

Remember looking through View Masters when you were a kid? (Okay - maybe I am 'dating' myself!!!!)

This card was simple to make - and is a unique way to give someone a greeting for any occasion - Birthday, New Baby, Christmas, Thanksgiving or any other occasion you can think of! ! You spin the View Master wheel, and expose various images!

I used the directions by a fellow Angel, Joani. Click on this link to see her instructions. The paper I used is from our Reece SWIC, and the stamp set I used was Christmas Mini's. It worked perfectly for the little spaces!

The dimensions I used were: main card, 5 1/4" x 10 1/2", the patterned paper was 5" x 5" and the circle I cut for the View Master Piece was 4 1/4". I cut it on my Cricut machine.

This Halloween card features a stamp from a stamp set called Flourish Trees of Hope. It isn't a stamp set one would typically use for a Halloween card. It is great fun to use stamps in a non-traditional way! I made a little Halloween Tree by putting dots of Orange Peel Stickles on the tree. The pumpkin is from the stamp set For All Seasons - a nice, basic stamp set to have to make cards for many different holidays and occasions! The sentiment is from Happy Haunting! How did I make the moon????? I punched a circle from a large circle punch, and used the negative to create the circle by sponging with the Paris Lights Palette Ink Pad. Super Easy!!! Then - I finished the card using some black ribbon and an abundance of colors of our FABULOUS Scrappers Floss! The patterned paper I used was Cha Cha!

I am working on some cards for a Kids Cards Stamp a Stack I will be hosting. This is one of them I came up with. I just think these Robots are a lot of FUN! And the Bright cardstock and Kaleidoscope Boyz paper is sure to bring a smile to a child's face!

Simple, But Elegant, Gerbera Daisy

This is one of my favorite cards. It was created for an All Day Stamping event I held in my home. It was simple to make, yet has the look of elegance.

The stamp sets used on the card were Gerbera Daisy and Tag Tidbits. I stamped with the Gold Brilliance stamp pad, and embossed with Gold embossing powder. I colored with our Fabulous Stardust Glitter Pens - gotta love 'em! Paper used was the Bazzill Violette Monochromatic paper pack. Add a little of thin, gold, thread, and you have made this elegant card!
